Local Businesses Gather For Ferndown BID Initiative

Local businesses gathered last night in the reception and board room of Arena Business Centre in Ferndown for the AGM of Ferndown & Uddens BID. Chaired by Russell Bowyer along with Kevin Poulton, Ferndown and Uddens BID Manager, the meeting shared a number of safety and security  improvements that have taken place since the BID formation which serves Ferndown Industrial Estate and the 300 companies within it.

Most notable improvements to the area, that is within easy reach of the surrounding towns of Wimborne, Ringwood, Verwood, Ferndown and Bournemouth, include the delivery of 12 lifesaving defibrillators and a fully comprehensive and monitored CCTV system serving the entire estate. To fully help local companies make the estate an attractive place to work, the team have also gained access to business travel grants along with making improvements to the local bus facilities.

Mark Wallis, Commercial Director of UK Manufacturer, Superior Seals, fully supported the efforts of BID in ensuring the continual improvement of the estate to deliver a safe and secure working environment. Located on Nimrod Way, the company now employs over 200 people including some 20 Superior apprentices through their bursary fund.
